• “People say … why don’t you expand that program, why don’t you spend more Federal money? . . . I don’t think they have understood one of the fundamentals . . . I look them in the eye and I say, ‘Do you realize that a government big enough to give us everything we want is a government big enough to take from us everything we have?'” ~President Gerald Ford, March 11, 1976

  1. A government with enough power to ‘give’ a populace “what they want…” will be then malignant enough to decide ‘if, what, when & how much benefit is needed by the populace & then if, what, when & how much of said benefit government will allow the populace to access as well as level of quality, if any, of said ‘benefit’.

That is NOT a government ‘…of, by and for the people…’, it is then a voracious beast with an insatiable appetite for power and control over the masses well beyond wants/needs.

The ‘ISM/IST’ governments are such examples; Marxism, Communism, Socialism… through the ages many a Monarchy has displayed less than desirable traits with regard to basic needs of the subjects & the endless comforts/desires of the ‘Ruling Class’.

When the ‘People’ give their governments leave to take away without question the People rarely recognize an opportunity to reclaim their natural rights & doom subsequent generations to ever increasing hopelessness.

President Ford was a very thoughtful man & withstood many insults referencing his intellect as with our Founders & others through the ages, his wisdom was little understood until, well, is it too late yet. If not it’s so close the hot breath of the Beast can be felt in every aspect of all our lives save that of the ‘Ruling Class’.

What a sad ending that would be to the ‘Republic if you can keep it’ given us by the Founders to nurture throughout time or give away, which will it be?
